USBC Gold Level Coach
A Bowlers Journal Magazine's "Top 100 Coach" since 2006, Bill has taught professionally since 1980, is a Gold Level USBC Coach (one of the first 20), and also has served on the Gold Level Review Committee since 2001. He was a Head Teaching Pro for Professional Bowling Camps for 10 years from 1980-1990 and taught at Bowling This Month's Super School in 1997.
Bowlers Journal, Bowling Digest
He wrote “Bill Spigner's Pro's Corner” for the Chicago Bowler for 6 years from 1985-1990; “Bill Spigner's Pro's Corner” instructional articles for Bowling Digest magazine for 22 years from 1983-2004, and “The Pro Approach” for Bowlers Journal magazine since May, 2008.
Since 2003 he has been the coach of the Vernon Hills High School Boy's Bowling Team and every year since 2003 individuals or the entire team has qualified for the IHSA State Tournament including the team finishing in 2nd place in 2011 and 3rd place in 2006 in only it's third year of competition.
Bill has worked with many PBA and PWBA touring professional bowlers including Kim Adler; PBA Hall-of-Famer's Mark Williams, Johnny Petraglia and Dave Soutar; 10-time PBA Champion Steve Neff and PBA Champion Dennis Lane; bowling legend Carmen Salvino; and PBA Champion, Chris Loschetter. Bill also helped coach the Indiana University Boy's Bowling Team when his older son Robby was a student there and the University of Illinois Boy's Bowling Team when his youngest son Jimmy was a student there. Bill utilizes video-taping and form analysis software in all his lessons and all lessons are tailored to the bowler's level of expertise, whether they are a beginner or very advanced player. Adult (age 19 or older) private lessons cost $85 per hour, or a pre-paid lesson package of 4 – 45 minute or 3 hour lessons for $230. Youth (age 18 and younger) and seniors (age 62 and older) private lessons cost $75 per hour, or a pre-paid lesson package of 4 – 45 minute or 3 hour lessons for $200. Pre-paid lesson packages also include a CD or e-mail of videos shot during lessons. Bowling game fees are not included in the lesson cost – games cost $2 for each game bowled before, during, or after a lesson. A popular lesson option is Bill's Monday Tune-Up. Held on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month from 6:30-7:30pm, the Monday Tune-Up is limited to 6 people and pre-registration is required. Cost is $20 a person and includes bowling game fees. Special practice rates afterwards for Monday Tune-Up attendees are available. As with his private lessons, the Monday Tune-Up is tailored to each attendee's level of expertise. New to Bill's lesson options are video lessons. The initial video lesson is really two lessons for one price – an initial video review and a follow-up after you have worked on Bill's suggested changes. The initial includes a complete voice-over video analysis in slow motion and stop action with a model to compare yourself to including drills and instructions on how to practice your changes. For this initial video lesson you will need to e-mail Bill 4 videos – three full body shots of your complete approach from your stance to your finish position from the back, side and front; and the 4th is a close-up of your release.
After you've practiced Bill's suggestions you'll send Bill another 4 follow-up videos for him to analyze your progress. Cost for this initial video and follow-up is $100 for Adults (age 19+); $90 for Seniors (age 62+); and $90 for Youth (age 18 and younger). Video lessons #3 and beyond will cost $45 for Adults (age 19+); $40 for Seniors (age 62+) and $40 for Youth (age 18 and younger). Also anyone taking an in-person private lesson package can also have a video follow-up lesson for the same price – $45 for Adults (age 19+); $40 for Seniors (age 62+) and $40 for Youth (age 18 and younger). LBCA Youth Learn-To-Bowl Clinic
Even though the July 26, 2015 Lake County Bowling Association Youth Learn-to-Bowl Clinic was sparsely attended the ones who came got some wonderful on-lane and classroom help to improve their bowling game. After a short classroom presentation Bill took them out on the lanes, video taped, and worked personally with each attendee. Proceeds from the clinic were all donated to the USBC's Bowling to Veterans Link (BVL) benefiting the men and women in our armed forces. CLICK HERE to view the 2015 flyer. Jr. Gold Lane Play Tune-Up
Bill's third Jr. Gold Lane-Play Tune-Up held for 4 successive Tuesdays June 9-June 30, 2015 before the USBC Jr. Gold Championships, was a great learning experience for all attendees. Turbo Tech Collegiate Expo
The 2015 Turbo Tech Collegiate College Expo was a complete success with a sell-out participation of 168 students (with 45 on the waiting list) from 27 states and 2 foreign countries. Coaches from 37 colleges were present to answer questions and observe. Programs were also available for parents and over 350 attended. Registration for 2016 will be available at the end of January, 2016. Bill will also be sending info out on it in his February newsletter and have it on his website. The Studio 300 Bootcamp held at Victory Lanes, Scottsboro, AL April 3-4 was very successful with the 45 participants learning how to improve their bowling game.

The IAB Sessions
Recently added to Bill's lesson choices are the The IAB Sessions. The first The IAB Sessions: Fundamentals was held April 26, 2014 and The IAB Sessions: Lane Play + Spares was held June 1, 2014. The IAB Sessions emphasis much hands-on personal on-lane coaching from Bill and Diandra incorporating drills, iPad video taping and Bill's ball fitting analysis and taping methods.
